A good day for Boler spotting

It was a good day for Boler spotting, four little eggs found in a few block square area of east Inglewood in Calgary, all within minutes of each other. This is a good neighbouhood to find these trailers and we’ve been hanging around it it for years. When we need a Boler fix, we come here. There always seems to be new one popping up to join those already there – we simply walk around randomly and find them.

This part of town was in fact where were set a record (link below). The trailers seen here are all new finds (by count there are ten in the area), all smaller 13 foot models. A few are older examples, from the early to mid-1970s – the metal Boler nameplate tells us this. Later examples used decals.

These were spotted in March of 2015. We’re way behind in our Boler postings.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. We make a fun game spotting them on road trips.

  1. I stumbled across the pair of Bolers in your lead photo yesterday. The “left” Boler has been turned 90 degrees – maybe it was sticking too far into the street – but otherwise everything looks the same, right down to the car between them.

    • That neighbourhood is full of Bolers. There are more of them there, I swear, than anywhere else. There are perhaps another four to six within a couple blocks of the ones you saw. I suspect you were looking for trains though and not Bolers.
