Red Deer River valley Boler

This Boler was seen while travelling the up and down the Red Deer River Valley near Drumheller Alberta. Spotted far off the highway, it was only dumb luck (or our Boler-radar) that allowed us to catch it. I am sure we could have driven past a hundred times and not seen it sitting well back in the yard. In any case, some quick manoeuvring brought us to a spot where we could photograph it.

This trailer was seen in May 2013 while we explored the area.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. Very collectible and a we make a fun game spotting them on road trips.

I think all Boler owners do this, just because of the novelty of finding kindred spirits or like minded people. When I can, I chat with the owners to find out what they have done with the Boler, where did they buy it, places they’ve taken it. Never thought of snapping photos though! That is a better spin to the game, esp. if there isn’t a chance to speak with the owners, i.e. seeing them on the highway. If I’m towing my Boler and pass another one on the highway, I honk and give them the thumbs up. Yeah Boler!

I love the Drumheller area. Did you visit any of the old coal mines this trip?

    • ChrisBigDoer says:

Yes in fact we did. We visited the old Nacmine site and I’ll have a report up soon. There were lots of old coal cars there to shoot – very interesting stuff.

We play the spot the Boler game too!
