Alberta flood watch Boler

The great floods of June 2013 will go down in history as some of the worst seen in this area. Heavy rains and snow melt in the mountains caused torrents of water to race downstream and nearly every community in Southern Alberta near a water course was effected.

Like many others we were glued to the news and on one report, discussing how the flood waters were effecting the small town of Turner Valley, a little Boler trailer is seen in the background behind a police barrier. Not meaning to make light of the event, it was life changing and so many lost so much, but for a moment we could take our minds of the crisis unfolding before us, to play the Boler spotting game.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. Very collectible and a we make a fun game spotting them on road trips.

I’ve been watching the news and have been praying for all those whose lives have been impacted by this horrible event.

Let’s hope that little Boler and all the houses around it make it through.

Thanks for your kind words. This post had me thinking, I wonder if a Boler can float?
