Bolers, After Dark

We’ve always hope that one day we’d be able to shoot Boler out there in the wild under the stars. Picture it, the trailer’s softly lit up inside, a roaring fire out front, people gathered round chatting and socializing and overhead, the big dipper, maybe auroras and other celestial wonders. This would be a most amazing moment captured and technically something quite challenging. But we think big, even if our results don’t always reflect it that well. And if and when done our life’s work will be complete.

Until then, we shoot some random finds in city, after dark. Seen here, all residing in the same alley, a group of four, three thirteen footers and one seventeen. The neighbourhood is Inglewood, a Boler hotspot by the way, and it’s a cool overcast winter’s eve, bounce light from the big city illuminating the scene. And for a moment we stand there in silence and dream that big dream, that some time in the future we hope becomes a reality. Ahh, it’ll happen, oh yes. Making some calls.

These same Bolers years ago…
Band of Bolers.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. We make a fun game spotting them on road trips and adventures. We also include other similar trailers here, those from other manufacturers who are close in appearance or configuration to Bolers.

Sometimes they can be skittish, so it’s good to catch them as they settle in at dusk.
