2018 just flew by…

It’s not a great photo, that of a fast moving train, but still it stands as a fine metaphor speaking of the incredible speed with which 2018 came and went. Bang! Then a mad dash off the starting line and in a blink it was over! Life’s a blur. It was a year of endless adventure, the highest of highs, our most epic trip to Spain being an example, along with the lowest of lows, Connie’s brush with Cancer, this test of courage and an ugly detour along the road of life. Still feeling the repercussions on this, but she’s made it through and for that we’re most thankful…and hopelessly behind.

For 2019, here’s what we promise to work hard towards…

To catch up on the article backlog, some couple dozen big ones in various stages of completion waiting in the wings. Some amazing pics and stories in the pipeline, let me tell you. We’ve shown you some teasers and the response has been overwhelming. We know you can’t wait…but be patient, we’re working on it.

And we’ll double our efforts to publish more “then and now” and “hikes and summits” articles. These two categories have been rather quiet lately, the former because it’s been increasingly difficult to source old photos to use as fodder for this series and the later simply account Connie’s condition. We’ve started walking again and soon should have our hiking legs back! And we’ve found some new sources for old photos that have some potential.

This year promises to be an amazing one in regards to new and upcoming articles. We’ve being planning and will be going some incredible places and seeing amazing things, and you’ll of course be invited along for the ride. We love your company. And coming soon, the chance to join us in person on select trips! You’ve asked for it so stay tuned!

So here’s to a great 2019! I suspect it too will be over quickly – they say time is short to those having fun.

Seen in the photo, a rail car presumably headed for repair somewhere, on a train headed south to the US, the location very near Stirling Alberta. Blur come via a “pan” shot. Could have been better though in regards to focus and things, but what the hey.
