Triple E Surfside

Triple E Manufacturing of Manitoba produced a Boler-like trailer starting sometime in the mid-1970s and early into the following decade. Some reports say 1980, others 1981, so make of it what you will. It’s called the Surfside (or Surf Side – two words – or sometimes stylized as SurfºSide), more squared in shape and in the same class but slightly longer than the smallest Boler.

We’ve seen perhaps a dozen or two over the years, so they’re not terribly common overall and to find one a rare treat.

This example was found by chance (as most of our discoveries are) while out for a walk in a north Calgary neighbourhood in early 2021. Once again, our desire to explore comes with a reward.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass camping trailer made in Canada in the 1960s to 1980s period and we make a fun game spotting them on road trips or adventures. We’ll also include similar trailers from other manufacturers that are close in appearance or configuration to Bolers.

How many points for finding it? 😉

    • Three points for rarity, three for difficulty, and one for the setting. Plus a million bonus points, just because we’re so awesome. Haha! We actually had a Boler Spotting Game online and phone app made (well 75% made), but it stalled with Covid and with the wind out of our sails, we’ve never finished it. Maybe one day.

Wow really, an app? That would have been interesting! Even still to get the spotting game rules pegged down, they seem to change each month 😉 Lol

        • We actually had someone from Fiverr build the bones but still have to input the data, do front end design and set it up. We play fast and loose with the rules right now, to be silly, but actually have a good sensible set pinned down should we ever proceed with the program. One to five points each for three criteria, with examples and pointers, plus bonus points only for extra special finds, for a minimum of three points and a max of twenty.
