Back Alleys Are Where You Find Them!

Their compact size means a Boler or any similar type trailer is generally easy to store. Any old spot that can fit a car will do in a pinch. For those with houses, driveways are the obvious choice, but often back alleys are where you find them. Just sock them away, within easy reach of the tow vehicle, in the parking area out behind your place and be done.

It’s that simple and given this seems to be a common approach to the storage issue means you’ll often fund us peering down these lanes in search of our quarry. It’s worthwhile and we’re rewarded with an amazing frequency.

We do it out of habit now and you’ll see us both scanning behind houses so they can be the first one to shout out Boler. That’s what you say, with all the exuberance that can be summoned, when announcing themselves as the quickest. Think of it as a variation of the Punch Buggy game, but without bruised shoulders and hurt feelings.

This find came about thanks to another instinctive sideways glace during a walk in a random Calgary neighbourhood. That’s back in April of 2022.

From the same card dump…Bowness Shopping Centre (Bowness Rd NW), Balmoral School Calgary 1913-1914 and Bamboo Gardens Mayland Heights.

Boler: A small, cute-as-a-bug fibreglass camping trailer made in Canada in the 1960s to 1980s period and we make a fun game spotting them on road trips or adventures. We’ll also include similar trailers from other manufacturers that are close in appearance, construction or configuration to Bolers.
