Not a Boler – a Beachcomber
The Boler-like trailer seen here is called a Beachcomber. This model must be rare based on how few we’ve stumbled across in our travels, This is only the second we’ve encountered in the many years that we’ve been playing the Boler spotting game – remember in that game we also count non-Bolers that are otherwise similar in size or appearance.
Little information can be found on the brand. We know that Beachcombers were manufactured in Manitoba in the mid to late 1970s (some reports say until 1980 or 81), but that’s about it. Being square in shape they will never be mistaken for a Boler. Even so, the two share a number of common features, fibreglass construction and small size being a couple obvious ones.
The tarp suggests this trailer must have a roof leak.
This trailer was spotted in Swift Current Saskastchewan in May 2014.
Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. Very collectible and a we make a fun game spotting them on road trips. We also include other similar trailers here, those from other manufacturers who are close in appearance to Bolers.
